Why do our eyes blink?
We blink our eyes to keep them moist and free or irritants.
Tear glands moisten the eyes and sebaceous glands in between the eye lashes lubricate the eye and prevent the tears from evaporating too quickly.
The eyelid acts like a windshield wiper, whisking away any foreign matter that lands on the surface of the eye.
Blinking also protects the surface of the eye by preventing dust and other material from entering.
