Why are Grape Nuts cereal called that? Is there such a thing as a grape nut; if so, there are none in the cereal.
The original ingredients for Grape-Nuts contained maltose, which was known as "grape sugar". This, and the "nutty" flavor of the cereal may have been the inspiration behind the name.
Another claim is that the tiny nuggets resemble grape seeds or grape "nuts".
